We are proud to announce that Wojciech Waśniewski, EOSE Projects & Research Coordinator, was recently appointed by the Polish Minister of Sport and Tourism, Sławomir Nitras, to join his Sport Workforce Education and Development Council for a 2-year term.

The council, chaired by Dr. Jolanta Żyśko (Warsaw University of Physical Education), advises the minister on establishing sport-related qualifications, certifying bodies, educational standards, and the alignment of physical education workforce development with Polish and European qualification frameworks. Notably, EOSE’s 7-Step Model was used as the basis for the development of the Polish sectoral qualifications framework for sport.

Wojciech brings to the council his Polish experience developing qualifications and leading the education system in golf, as well as his international outlook gained through working for EOSE.

Wojciech commented on the appointment:

I am honoured to have been invited to join the council and play a role in the development of education for the Polish sport workforce. Sport sector is at the forefront of implementing the National Qualifications Framework and I am looking forward to supporting this process further. The NQF is trying to fill a gap, having deregulated all sport professions in 2012, Polish government is now assessing the results of that decision and the sports ministry plays a key role in the upcoming discussions.

I would like to thank the Minister, dr. Żyśko and the Ministry staff for this opportunity!

Wojciech Waśniewski

Projects & Research Coordinator, EOSE
