EOSE, through its Executive Director Aurélien Favre, were pleased to participate in the Final Conference and official launch of SIGGS 3.0, a key milestone in advancing good governance in European sport. This event was of great interest for EOSE, as we were actively involved in the very first initiative in 2015, during which the initial version of the tool—SIGGS 1.0—was developed.
Organised by the EOC EU Office, the hybrid conference brought together over 90 participants, including representatives from National Olympic Committees, European and national sport federations, education providers, and EU institutions. Discussions highlighted the evolution of the SIGGS tool, the strategic importance of good governance, and the role of sport organisations in promoting areas such as transparency, accountability, gender equality, and safeguarding.
A key moment in the event was the presentation of the SIGGS 3.0 self-evaluation tool, designed to help sport organisations self-assess and improve their governance practices.
EOSE welcome the launch of SIGGS 3.0 and encourages all sport organisations to explore and test this free resource, now available via the EOC EU Office Toolbox for Good Governance. This initiative represents a significant step forward in building resilient, democratic, and accountable governance structures across the European sport sector.
