Project management
PLANNING, ORGANISING, MOTIVATING AND CONTROLLING RESOURCES,
PROCEDURES AND PROTOCOLS TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOAL
“Project” is probably one of the most-used words in the world of sport development at European level as well as in the consultancy sphere. However the success of any project will depend on the quality of the expected outputs. This in turn will depend on the level of expertise applied to the project.
A project is temporary in that it has a defined beginning and end in time, and therefore defined scope and resources. But it is also unique in that it is not a routine operation, but a specific set of operations designed to accomplish a singular goal. We believe that project management requires distinct technical skills and management strategies for it is the application of knowledge, skills and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently.
Since its creation, EOSE had proved to be quite successful in raising EU funds for projects (read more) and can be considered as a pioneer which take leadership on building bridges between the world of education and employment in the sport and active leisure sector at EU level.
Therefore, we at EOSE are very experienced in delivering on all the well-known five key processes involved in Project Management:
1. Initiating
ANALYSIS OF CALLS FOR PROPOSAL
This is the very first step to initiate any project. It consists in screening and analysing existing opportunities. This also implies measuring the winning chances of your idea while confronting it to the requested criteria of each call.
This phase therefore implies both business intelligence and SWOT analysis. It may also entails drawing up a “project charter” and conducting a feasibility study.
2. Planning
PROJECT WRITING
Should an opportunity be considered as achievable and appropriate, the second step will be the entire bid package development.
Project writing involves understanding of the call’s objectives but also the promoter aims as well as selection and development of the best courses of action (activities planning process) but also budget proposition (matching the financial rules of the call and constraints/reality of the applicant/promoter).
3. Executing
NETWORK, ADMINISTRATIVE & CONTENT MANAGEMENT
This process encompass the integration, instruction and coordination of all people and other resources to carry out the management plan and make it all happen.
Including especially stakeholder, production and communication management, it shall allow the delivery of the projects outputs.
4. Monitoring & Controlling
QUALITY ASSURANCE
It consists in monitoring and measuring progress on all fronts in order to identify any variances from the management plan so that corrective action can be taken quickly and effectively.
This process entails in particular to conduct time, human resources, costs and risk management at best.
5. Closing Process
DISSEMINATION, EXPLOITATION & REPORTING
It shall ensure that the project is brought to an orderly conclusion.
This implies commissioning the product / service and handing it over for ongoing operation (exploitation strategy) but also delivering final report, providing detailed financial proofs and budget, etc.
