From the 21st to the 23rd of September, the city of Prague in the Czech Republic welcomed around 250 participants from different countries for the Official Opening of the European Week of Sport.
Several key activities for the sector took place at the event. Of particular interest to EOSE was a seminar on the European Commissions #HelathyLifestyle4All initiative which was organised within the framework of European Week of Sport. The seminar was packed with interesting practical examples from different coutries about implementation of healthy lifestyles in daily life. EOSE has made a pledge in this Helathy Lifestyles initiative and is pleased to support this key part of the European Commission’s agenda in sport and physical activity for 2022.
The spotlight was also on sport infrastructure with a conference on this topic. This Conference covered issues such as equal accessability and sustainable strategies for sport infrastructure. In another session clear inputs on the future of sport and society was given from young people with ideas presented in the Youth Ideas Labs, this included topics of mental health, digital health, healthy solidarity, and tranforming lives through sport.
The event was finalised with a nice event in the beautiful Vusegrad park of Prague with the official opening of European Week of Sport 2022.
EOSE was represented at this event by Board Member Signe Luika who works for the Latvian Academy of Sport Education, Signe said “for me it was a big honour to represent EOSE in European Week of Sport 2022 in Prague, as well as being an interesting experience and chance to develop ideas for future activities.
