EOSE supporting female volunteering and participation in sport
On the 29th to 31st of August 2017 the second partner meeting of the European Us Girls project was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. EOSE is proud to be a partner in this Erasmus+ Sport funded project to increase both participation and volunteering in sport by girls and women through peer leadership.
The project is led by the UK charity StreetGames (streetgames.org) and brings together five other partners including EOSE. The purpose of the second meeting was to exchange and reflect about the research report and plan the new learning and training resources which will be developed within the project.
EOSE was represented at the meeting by Stephen Studd, Director of Development and Ben Gittus, Director of Standards. Stephen and Ben were impressed by the academic review and report on case studies prepared by partner Women Win (womenwin.org). EOSE will be more active in the next phase of the project to develop innovative e learning resources for project leaders to identify, recruit and train female peer leaders.
The meeting was facilitated by colleagues from StreetGames in a dynamic and action packed way, with fun and engaging activities designed to get the most motivation and information from partners, indeed Stephen said that it was “one of the most productive and enjoyable EU partner events that I have attended”.
EOSE looks forward to continuing to support the education and learning aspects of this important project.
